Responsive Reading
Leader: A word fitly spoken is like
apples of gold in a setting of silver.
All: May our words bring life
and encouragement.
Leader: In Words of Affirmation, we express love through
compliments, appreciation, and kind speech.
All: Let us affirm one another as God affirms us.
Leader: The Lord says, “You are my beloved child,
in whom I am well pleased.”
All: Help us speak words that heal and uplift.
Leader: A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.
All: Teach us to use our tongues wisely in love.
Leader: Today, let us practice affirming those around us.
All: Amen. Fill our mouths with words of love.

Hymn “To God Be the Glory” (F.J. Crosby / W. Doane)
1 To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
so loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
and opened the life-gate that all may go in.
Refrain:
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son,
and give Him the glory, great things He hath done.
2 O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
to ev'ry believer the promise of God;
the vilest offender who truly believes,
that moment from Jesus a pardon receives. [Refrain]
